Pecan Chewies

Rich, buttery, and loaded with golden brown sugar and crunchy toasted pecans, these chewy bars melt in your mouth with every bite—an irresistible classic! Perfect with coffee, tea, or as a sweet treat anytime.

Ingredients

• ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted

• 2 cups (400 g) packed light brown sugar

• 2 large eggs

• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

• 1 ½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour

• 2 teaspoons baking powder

• ½ teaspoon salt

• 1 cup (120 g) chopped pecans, lightly toasted

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F. Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.

3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.

4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture until just combined.

5. Stir in toasted pecans.

6. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.

7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden on top and set in the center.

8. Cool completely before cutting into squares or bars.
