A raccoon in Virginia broke into a liquor store, drank alcohol, and was later found passed out in the bathroom. According to Fox9 News, the animal fell through a ceiling tile into the store, knocked over bottles, and consumed alcohol before passing out in the bathroom. Employees discovered the mess early in the morning and found the raccoon asleep between the toilet and the trash bin.
Hanover County Animal Protection was called to the scene. According to ABC News, officers safely removed the raccoon, allowed it to sober up, and later released it back into the wild. The animal was unharmed aside from what officials jokingly described as a a likely hangover. The bizarre incident quickly went viral online. Locals were amused by the idea of a “boozy bandit” raccoon treating itself to liquor before collapsing.
