For three years, an 18-year-old student from Jiangsu, China, showed the world what real friendship looks like.
His name is Xie Xu, and every morning before class, he walked to his best friend Zhang Chi, who suffers from a muscle-weakening condition that makes it hard for him to walk.
Instead of letting Zhang miss school or fall behind, Xie made a promise he would carry him to every single class. And he did.

Through hallways, up staircases, to the lunchroom, back to the dorms… Xie lifted Zhang on his back several times a day, rain or shine, for almost three full years.
Teachers and students watched this routine every day, amazed by the quiet dedication between the two friends. What made it even more inspiring was that both boys were top students, proving that kindness and hard work can go hand in hand.
Xie never asked for attention or praise. He simply wanted his friend to have the same chance as everyone else.
Their story touched millions across China, a powerful reminder that sometimes, the greatest heroes are just ordinary people choosing to help someone they love.
