Travelers at an all-inclusive resort in Cancún were caught off guard when a group of wild spider monkeys wandered into the property’s breakfast area and began helping themselves to the fruit display. Footage recorded by guests shows the animals slipping past patio railings and heading directly for the banana trays as diners backed away in surprise.
Resort staff attempted to shoo the monkeys out, but the animals quickly grabbed what they wanted and retreated toward nearby vegetation bordering the property.
According to visitors familiar with the area, wild spider monkeys are known to approach beachfront hotels, though full buffet raids are far less common. The clip spread widely online, with social-media users both amused and astonished at the animals’ confidence.
